Charlie Ostrom

Charlie Ostrom was born with a pencil in his hands.

His father who worked as an illustrator creating children’s books showed Charlie the ropes at a young age. Charlie would spend summers throughout high-school helping his father ink and color pages for these books. After high-school Charlie went off to live in the mountains attending a local community college and then transferring to Appalachian State University. He received a bachelors degree of arts in graphic design with a focus in illustration. While still living in the mountains, Charlie illustrated and designed many beer and wine labels for companies all across the US. During the pandemic Charlie moved back to Raleigh working at a large art publishing company creating and embellishing works of art for Ethan Allen, and World Art Group. It was there he found the knowledge to create his own publishing company, Goodtimes Press. Working with tattooers to create artwork for homes and galleries, Charlie fell in love with tattooing. Spending all of his spare time drawing and painting tattoo flash he then sought out an apprenticeship under Jack Cody. Charlie is now a full time artist at Twin Suns Tattoo. He specializes in works fashioned in a woodcut style.
