Charlie Ostrom was practically born with a pencil in his hand. Raised by a father who worked as a children’s book illustrator, Charlie was introduced to the world of drawing at an early age and spent his high school summers inking and coloring pages alongside him.

After high school, Charlie moved to the mountains of North Carolina, attending community college before transferring to Appalachian State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design with a focus in illustration. While living in the mountains, he illustrated and designed beer and wine labels for companies across the United States.

During the pandemic, Charlie relocated to Raleigh and worked at a large art publishing company, creating and embellishing artwork for brands such as Ethan Allen and World Art Group. It was there that he gained the knowledge and confidence to launch his own publishing company, Goodtimes Press.

Through working closely with tattooers to create artwork for homes and galleries, Charlie developed a deep appreciation for tattooing. He began dedicating his spare time to drawing and painting tattoo flash, eventually pursuing an apprenticeship under Jack Cody. Charlie is now a full-time artist at Twin Suns Tattoo, specializing in bold, classic tattoos inspired by American Traditional style.
